Let's face it: we live in a society that is based on and rewards hypermasculinity. Many people will claim to love femininity but it has to be under already established terms. Self-defined femininity? Too threatening. Sexually free femininity? Too taboo. Femininity in leadership? That's too 'unstable'—after all, Hillary Clinton's the political leader who is currently throwing emotional, baseless tantrums on Twitter, not a man...right? And oh...Femininity in men? Now that's the evil of all evils.
Society hates all of this and yet won't put any effort towards solving any of the real and horrendous problems that have been forced upon us by masculinity. For example: many men are destroying themselves and others by upholding the belief that emotions are for cowards and pussies. Society has told men that in order to fit into the most elite forms of masculinity, that they must bottle up all of their feelings (even if that means that they will violently explode in the future).
There are also some women who accept these standards of masculinity and cause damage to themselves and to other women who are trying to survive in this patriarchy. Many women are sometimes forced to accept these standards. Danger continues when we see that men use hypermasculinity as a benchmark to measure other men by. If you don't pass their test, then you best believe that—at the very least—ridicule is coming your way. At the most, assault and death is what waits for those men who abandon these masculine ideals. Toxic masculinity is one of the many cancers in society and yet it is femininity that has so many people shook.
Toxic straight cis men don't like femininity unless they control it. They want to decide who has it, who shouldn't have it, how it's used, and the amount of power it holds. If you love femininity so much, then why cant you see its beauty even when it shows itself in someone who 'isn't a woman'? If you claim to know the strength that can come with femininity, then why are the men who exhibit some of these characteristics described as weak?
You're scared. That's the only plausible reason as to why you would have such a violent reaction to finding femininity where you wouldn't expect it. You've gained and maintained power through upholding strictly defined societal rules of masculinity and femininity. Now that those rules are changing (or now that people realize that there were really no rules in the first place) you're running and frightened. Your whole personality and existence is founded on rules that we're all calling stupid and you don't know how to take it.
Get used to it though. We're progressing, sis.
