We've seen it happen many times before--a societal conversation that goes something like this:
Nazi: "Wow, I hate all you dumbass n*ggers! I think y'all should go ahead and go back to Africa right now!"
Us: That's why you ain't got no damn teeth!
Nazi: See, this is why we can't get anywhere in this country! Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you have to call people names!
Like, sis... what?? How did you even get to that conclusion?? Here's the tea: white supremacy only survives if it is able convince people that they are responsible for their own oppression. White supremacy first claims its victims and then gaslights people into thinking that they should solve the problems themselves or accept the bullshit without complaint. (And the dangerous thing about certain 'progressive' or 'democratic' groups is that they play right into these respectability politics).
Rolling over for massa and letting him get a couple more lashes in is not going to save our asses. Let's get that straight. Some people are trying hold on to this "when they go low, we go high" rhetoric but sometimes your ass has to meet these fuckers under the bleachers for the sake of your own survival. I'd rather seem 'hostile' and live than tap-dance to the broken tune of respectability and be dead.
There are people who don't understand why I and so many others are so 'angry' when it comes to dealing with/talking about these types of issues. They do not see that authoritarian regimes and mass genocide don't just suddenly happen one day out of nowhere. These crimes against humanity arise slowly but surely. One racist comment over here, one prejudice policy enacted over there, another discriminatory law put in place tomorrow, a judge replaced next week, governmental protections for minorities stripped back over the course of the next few months and that's all it takes. If no one says or does anything about it, these things can happen under our noses. You will find yourselves crying out for help and no one will be there to answer because you told them all to shut the hell up. Their voices killed or silenced and you said nothing because you didn't want to appear to be complaining "like the others."
Think about that the next time white supremacy asks you to put down your defenses and suffer in silence.
